The compact handheld UTG ultrasonic thickness gauge is an economically priced option for measuring material thickness up to 7.8 inches thick.
The UTG can be used in a wide range of applications, including flow metering, industrial, automotive, HVAC and plumbing. In particular, this ultrasonic thickness gauge is useful when installing clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters. The user can determine the required pipe wall thickness without cutting the pipe or referencing charts.
Acceptable materials include: Steel, cast iron, aluminum, red copper, brass, zinc, quartz glass, polyethylene, PVC, gray cast iron, nodular cast iron, and more. A custom selectable option allows potential measurement of special materials with a known sound propagation rate.
