This clamp-on Ultrasonic Flowmeter is Ideal for monitoring for those difficult liquids. Easy installation on metal and plastic pipe materials and has no moving parts. Recommended for dirty liquids, wastewater, sewage, sludge, paper stock, slurries and more..
Theory of Operation
The ultrasonic transducer is mounted on the outside of most metal or plastic pipes. The transducer continuously injects high frequency sound through the pipe wall and into the moving fluid where acoustic pulses are reflected back to the transducer form particles or bubbles in the fluid.
If the liquid is flowing, the reflection at an altered frequency (the Doppler Effect). The flowmeter continuously measures this frequency shift to accurately measure flow. Application requirement is for the process liquid to have a minimum of 75 PPM of suspended solids 100 Microns or larger.
Note: The flowmeter includes the clamp on transducer and a mounting kit
