Description This clamp-on Ultrasonic Flowmeter is Ideal for monitoring for those difficult liquids. Easy installation on metal and plastic pipe materials and has no moving parts. Recommended for dirty liquids, wastewater, sewage, sludge, paper stock, slurries and more. Unlike other Doppler Technologies, the DFX is a smart meter that automatically adjusts filtering parameters and gain settings so that reliable readings are ensured over a wide range of liquids and reflector conditions. The DFX series ultrasonic transducer is mounted on the outside of most metal or plastic pipes. The transducer continuously injects high frequency sound through the pipe wall and into the moving fluid where acoustic pulses are reflected back to the transducer from particles or bubbles in the fluid. If the liquid is flowing, the reflection at an altered frequency (the Doppler Effect). The flowmeter continuously measures this frequency shift to accurately measure flow. Application requirement is for the process liquid to have a minimum of 100 PPM of suspended solids 35 Microns or larger.
